  1. I believe it's the same, when you apply for graduate school. Apply for the graduate school, but have a second option.
  2. University of Phoenix is regionally accredited, which means that your credits should transfer and your degree should be honored. The disadvantage of U of P is the stigma against it as an online, for-profit school. For that reason, it is possible that you will face challenges with being accepted into a PhD program or in securing a job. It shouldn't happen, but you should be aware of the possibility. Also, since U of P is for-profit, you will be paying more in the long run than you would at a traditional school. If money is a concern for you, be sure to do some price comparisons.
  3. I looked into the online college thing and found that there are some biases when it comes to online vs traditional schooling. And most of the online courses I could take were incompatible with traditional schooling, thus no credit would transfer so for me, it would have been a waste of time. The university you asked about is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission as a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. However, too many people have railed on the school that I would stay well away from it. But many online colleges ARE duly accredited, so no worries. The stigma of having an "online" degree is fading faster than most stigmas and most online colleges have actual brick-and-mortar campuses so there is no distinguishing between an online degree and an off line one, that's just how far the line is being blurred. So when many of the "old timers" move out of the way, there'll not be a stigma anymore.
  4. University of Phoenix is an accredited online university. Enrolling in a graduate school will be just as easy or hard as it would be if you earned your degree through an on-campus program, depending on how you view it. If you work hard and earn high grades, then no, this is not a waste of time. If you are serious about your advanced education, then attaining your education and career goals are to be applauded. A recent article shows that colleges, as well as employers, view online degrees as comparable with on-campus degrees (see my first link below). If you think that an online program would be better for you, especially if you are already working, or if you'd prefer a more flexible schedule, then browse the second link I've added. If you are content with the Univ. of Phoenix, then stay with the program! Good luck!
