What is Distance learning course?
Hey friends,
Can anyone tell me about online education? What is it? Who does it? Why people do it? What kind of technology is used for online distance learning? Actually I want to do some courses by distance learning and I don’t have much idea. Please help me in this matter.
Thanks a lot!

- Distance Learning involves taking courses where the teacher is at a remote location from the student(s). That is the teacher is at one location and the students are at another. Students may be in the same town or city, or they may be tens or hundreds of miles away, as here in Texas, where vast expanses of land sometimes separate students from teachers. Distance Learning courses usually are televised, but sometimes courses are conducted by telephone. If you are interested in taking Distance Learning courses, contact by phone or e-mail, or visit the websites of the school(s) you may be considering, to see if they offer such courses, and get all the details from them if they do. This should be easy to do. Good luck.
- Distance education, or distance learning, is a field of education that focuses on the pedagogy and andragogy, technology, and instructional systems design that aim to deliver education to students who are not physically "on site". Rather than attending courses in person, teachers and students may communicate at times of their own choosing by exchanging printed or electronic media, or through technology that allows them to communicate in real time. Distance education courses that require a physical on-site presence for any reason including the taking of examinations is considered to be a hybrid or blended course or program. which course u want to do thru distance learning?
- I have taken several Distance Education Courses. Most I have taken over the internet, some I have viewed on television. Hybrid classes are a combination of both classroom time and internet time. I have enrolled in mine through my local community college. I also attend classroom courses as well. I began taking on-line courses when I was working a 50 hr wk week on the night shift; too difficult to get to class. I could do on-line at 4 a.m. if I wanted to. Check with local colleges in your area. They usually have distance ed classes listed in their semester catalogs. Just make sure what you choose has a good accreditation. Again, check with your local college...they can tell you about good accredidations.
