- Currently doing a distance learning course. Pros - your can plan your studies to fit in with your life; you do not have the hassle of travelling to and from college Cons - isolation - we often learn best when we are able to colloborate and discuss with others. There may be limited opportunity for this with distance learning. You have to be very self disciplined. Good luck - I am doing a distance course and working so it is very possible.
- I have done both distance learning and on site learning. In my experience, to successfully complete distance learning courses, you need more motivation. This is simply because you are studying with less support, and therefore need to be more disciplined. Good luck.
- I know that you must have a TOEFL or IELTS for english. It's a good thing to learn at distance, because you save a lot of time. I don't know about the money, because it usually cost as much as a normal university. But as a distance student you can get a job. You'll have to work just as hard as a full time student, so ... it's up to you. If you visit the university's website, you might find out more. They usually post some kind of test to make you find out if you are the righ person for distance learning. Some persons need constant feedback any they have a hard time learning at distance. Good luck!
- Advantages; 1.less communication and accomodation expenditure 2.less time saving in previous cases 3.less labor 4.facility to learn living in home and family-environment 5.flexibility,liberal,comfortable and easy going Disadvantages: 1.Lack of teacher-student contact 2.lack of real -time consultancy 3.lack of proper study-environment 4.lack of exploration of knowledge thru class-room facility 5.occational negligence in study in flexible and liberal environment 6.lack of communication and gathering in consultancy with fellow students 7.lack of lab,library-reference,notes and papers facility when needed 8.less feedback-chance of gathered knowledges and skills
- I earned my MBA mostly through distance learning. You need to ensure that the University is accredited first. Once you confirm that get started. Distance learning is great for adult learners. What I liked best about it was the fact that I could manage my own schedule. It is hard for a working professional to commit to being in a classroom each day at an exact time. However, with distance learning you can log on when you have the time. Sure you have to meet the required time lines of the course but how you do that is up to you. Some of the draw backs are the time lag in getting questions answered. Generally it is about 24 hours and this delays your progress if it is a critical question. My experience however has mostly been positive. I say go for it.
- The main advantages are that you can study around your other commitments, you can continue to work while you study, you can study wherever and whenever you like, you can usually go at your own pace but this depends how structured the course is, and for most courses you can start any time of year. The main disadvantages are that there is little funding available for people wanting to do distance learning courses, you have to keep yourself motivated which can be hard to do, you do not often get the interaction of other students like classroom learning, and sometimes tutor support can be poor. I would suggest you check the levels of tutor support offered with the course as this may be essential to whether you keep motivated and pass the course.
