What are the best online universities for a Masters in English? I am looking at National University and NAU?

www.nu.edu and nau.edu I have looked at both and both are nationally and regionally accredited. The problem is so many schools now are accredited that it sort of make me think what is the big deal? Do employers hire you if you got on online degree? I don't want to spend thousands and have a worthless diploma. How do I know if employers don't shun an online Masters degree? I like National University's curriculum better than Northern Arizona University but I am afraid that because National University is less known it might not be taken as seriously. I am only considering English because that is what I am good at. I know University of Phoenix is not taken seriously and I don't want to be lumped with those people. Thanks, Stacy

  1. Employers will consider the reputation of the school that awarded the degree - not whether it was online or classroom. East Carolina University was planning an online MA in English. You may want to check that one too. Texas Tech and Eastern New Mexico also have a grad program in English online. Texas Tech has their PhD in Rhetoric online too. ☺
