Can you get a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in economics?

I'm about to finish a BS in psychology but I want to get a masters in economics. My GPA is relatively high (in the top 15%) and want some feedback. Is it possible and what are the pros and cons of such a decision. P.S. I have little school left and in a way, a layover from fall and summer in which I hope to complete math up to level calculus 2. This is because I want to go into economics. Of course im going to apply to Chicago, which interestly ranks above Harvard for economics. Feedback? Thanks

  1. Yes. More to the point, you could get your BA in Physical ED. and get your MA in Astrophysics IF the school accepts you. Unlikely but it is possible. I hope you do have some econ classes cause they are not gonna teach you the basics.
  2. You have to know the econ basics IF you expect a masters. And I don't just mean the principles but the theory as well.
  3. You'll need a lot more math background. Multivariate calculus (Calc 3 & 4) is a requirement for most graduate econ programs and many of them also require further math in linear algebra (don't confuse with high school algebra) and above for a favorable application to any decent school.
