Distance Learning??

I am 17. I am wanting to get a diploma in web design next year. I am looking for an actual college, not a diploma mill. But i also have some family issues that require me to stay home alot. And not be able to have much of a schedule. So i am looking for a good college that offers distance learning. So far i have only found the Art Institute of PA. I'm sure there are more out there,i just can't seem to find them. Any information is appreciated! Thanks in advance! :0)

  1. Check out Petersons.com - they review a lot of colleges, and have a search function for online only programs, including certificates. Be sure there is some kind of accreditation - you may want to check out some of the professional associations (look at the Occupational Outlook Handbook) - I list one below. That being said, you miss a lot with just online courses. Even with something like web design, you need the stimulation you can only get with debating the coursework with others...try to get a balance between online and a few bricks and morter courses.
  2. Champlain College http://www.champlain.edu has associate's and bachelor's degrees in web design available by distance learning.
  3. Best way is to learn it by yourself and go to your local community college. Ask people for help and learn how to network! http://www.getintopharmacyschool.com
  4. Florida State University has an excellent online Webmaster Certificate Program. It is not an academic program, but is for individuals who want professional certification. You can check it out at: http://learningforlife.fsu.edu/webmaster
  5. As mentioned before, community college is not a bad option for someone who has to take care of his family; they are usually very flexible and affordable. However, you can also check this: http://homemadedegrees.blogspot.com/2007/08/learn-web-design-online.html
