Which degree is more valuable in terms of salary (Ph.D in school psychology or masters degree in I/O psych?
I am very familiar with the school psychologist but not too familiar with I/O psychology.
Public Comments
- Probably the I/O psych since you will likely be employed eventually in private industry whereas with the school psych degree, in public school (of course, there ARE private schools too!;-) Personally, I find I/O psych much more interesting, but that's probably because it is closer to my own interest (social psych). Since the two degrees are rather different in focus, think about the types of people and environments you want to work in and with. School psych is likely kids in school. I/O likely adults and organizations.
- D.C., ( degree of contentment )
