Masters degree in Psychology?

I have an associates degree of liberal arts (my basics), a bachelor's degree in visual communications and now I would like to get my master's in psychology. I would like to be a counseling pyshologist. Maybe in a high school or in a practice. What do I need to do? Do I have to get a bachelor's in pyschology first or can I go straight into the masters? I do eventually want to get my doctorate in psychology, also. Also, do you think that it is appropriate to do the classes online or would it be advisable to go to on campus classes? What all is involved in becoming a psychologist? Do you have to intern?

  1. Since you don't know anything about being a psychologist, perhaps you had better take a class or two in psychology first, before you decide.
  2. Some schools require you to have a bachelor's in psychology others just want you to have a bachelor's in anything before entering a master's program. You will probably want to go into a Counseling Psychology master's program rather than just psychology. You do have to intern but its a good way to get your foot in the door at a school.
  3. The study of psychology builds on. You have to get your Bachelors first. Then masters, and finally Ph.D.
  4. Hello! Try to find some degree programs here: http://besteducationoffers.blogspot.com (both campus and online) and Master degree too! Good luck !
