Masters degrees commonly done with a JD?

What Masters degree programs are commonly offered in conjunction with a law degree? How do I learn mor about these programs? Are they a smart idea?

  1. Generally, you can do a joint JD/MBA program. The programs are different at each school, if they even offer them. Your best bet is to go to each law school's website and see if they offer it. It is generally a 4 year program, which cuts a year off if you were going to do them seperately (3 year JD, 2 year MBA). I can't even imagine how difficult this must be to get through. Not only are you taking law classes (which most people recommend studying 4 hrs per hour of class), but you're taking upper level business classes which will be just as hard, but unrelated (mostly) to the law classes. If you feel like you can handle it, more power to you, but I can't imagine that someone doing this joint work would be able to compete for a top spot in the Law School class. Good Luck!
