Can you get financial help for Open University or other distance learning courses?

I work full time and I would like to earn a qualification in marketing, all the sites I've checked have prices up to £6000 for a BSc.

  1. Unfortunately I don't think so. You have to be on a real low income, then you get loads of help. It's unfortunate, there's either loads of help, or none. They should really graduate the support.
  2. It depends on your earnings, go on the OU website and look in the financial/bursaries section it should tell you, while you are there see if there is anything you else you can claim for. You might be able to get a hardship loan or the OU's equivalent.
  3. No i dont think you do. Master's course's are self financed. Believe ive tried (mine gonna cost me £18 to do MA HRM) You do know that to do postgrad you have to have done Undergrad
  4. Not sure about financial help, as in grant, but some of the high st banks do offer development loans - try Nat West, they even advertise such. £6k sounds about right as a campus student has to pay £3k per year these days in top-up fees.
