free distance learning courses?

wondered if any one knew of any free distance learning courses that may be government funded or just free, which actually result in a qualification i did one last year but cant find any more?

  1. The only distant learning courses I know of are at MIT. They are free, but does not result in any type of qualification, but if you are savvy enough, you might be able to test out of a course at a college based on the information gained through one of the free online courses.
