  1. if it's online, 99 out of 100 are scams. here are some things to look for: 1. profs are not ph.d's 2. they require less than 3 months per year of actual classroom time. 3. they promise degrees in under 2 years. 4. there is no actual campus. 5. they want less than $5k US. 6. registration procedures do not require a sit-down test at a specific location.
  2. You're on the right track in that you are looking for state universities with distance education programs. If the university itself is regionally accredited, so is their distance education program. On each college's website, there is usually a search box. In this box, search for the term "accreditation." The school should be accredited by one of these accreditation associations: Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools New England Association of Schools and Colleges North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges Western Association of Schools and Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Here is a list of some of the US state universities with distance education programs that are fully accredited by regional accreditors: Penn State U, Indiana State U, Kansas State U, Washington State U, Oregon State U, Colorado State U, North Carolina State U, and Utah State U. There are also more. Just continue your research, and you'll find one that is right for you. Best wishes to you!
