  1. you'll probably end up just using your bio tech degree as there are very few jobs related to psychology. Even if you do find one it will probably require a SIGNIFICANT pay cut from what you would have with a bio tech related job.
  2. There are a ton of people doing psychology. I'd say it is one of the most popular majors out there. As a result, there is more competition. Pyschologists are also facing stiff competition from personal coaches. Psychiatry is a better option, but for that you'll need to go to med school. Lastly, a master's degree in Psych is worthless to a large extent. Most of the most successful practitioners have Phds. And there are a lot of them!
  3. There are some exciting areas which combine biology, biotech, and psychology. Neurobiology is fast-developing, and when combined with a tech background, you would be in demand. Have a look at some of the behavioural neurobiology work at one research centre at Concordia University in Montreal http://csbn.concordia.ca/ There is also a strong engineering faculty here, and combinations of disciplines are welcomed. The psychology department has both clinical and research directions, and there are collaborations worth looking into. good luck!
