What can you do with a masters or bachelors degree in english and what are the different degrees good for?

I was wondering what you can do with a masters or bachelors degree in english becase i was thinking of becoming a writer/sports writer/or music writer.

  1. Well you have to start with a bachelor's degree, of course. This would be the right path for any/all of those careers.
  2. You can teach, do free- lance writing, short story books. Wouldn't suggest that you focus solely on English do a minor maybe in performing arts.
  3. Well masters defintely opens up greater oppertunity and more pay. Yet, if it is done professionally they will probably be looking for a masters in English. If you are writing for one of the top-notch sports magizines and such. I'm not positive but I bet they will be looking for the better qualified. Defintely not just focus on it, get a minor as you may decide to change your mind and it also helps if you get a minor in a subject sometimes relating to your major. Yet, it just depends. Just a few suggestions...
