Psychology Masters degrees in England?

Does anyone know about getting Masters degrees in England? I'm from the California, and I was thinking of going to England because I heard it was cheaper to get a master's degree over there. But does anyone have experience with this? Does the degree offer the same validity in the US? I also heard you might have to take additional classes in order to make the degree 'work' in the US, is this true? Does anyone know of a good websites for this? Thanks so much!!

  1. Yes it is cheaper to do Masters in UK... most of the degree's are offered as one year programme...but Masters in Psychology ? let me tell u Its hard to read British Minds..:) All the best
  2. Not sure what you meant by "real therapist"! S and L therapists are definitely NOT imaginary! However - as I understand it, American BSc and BA degrees include minors and majors and so are more like our 'a' levels i.e. cover a variety of subjects but their Masters' degrees are specific so equate to our BSc and BA degrees therefore if I have a BSc in, say Speech and Language Therapy, its content is equivalent to an American Masters in "Speech Pathology"! To sum up - in the USA, to get the equivalent to a British "B-" degree, you need to go to Masters' level. I think!
