Best way to undertake a distance learning degree? I'm interested in doing an undergraduate degree in Physics, but I would like to do it self-study, as I have work commitments full time study isn't an option. How long is it likely to take distance learning? How often would I have to travel to the accrediting university to take exams? How much would it cost. Grateful for suggestions for completing distance learning degree.? I do some volunteer preaching and believe in studying the Bible to present worthwhile sermons at nursing home and small church that does not pay. I found a very reasonably priced distance learning seminary that has a program that has been very helpful. It is a lot better in my view than programs that teach more about denominational views and theological aspects of Christianity not mentioned in the Bible. My problem is lack of discipline. I listen to tapes, take notes, answer some of the questions, but just am not completing any classes. The distance learning course assignments can be faxed, e-mailed, or even sent by snail mail. Am a retiree with some health problems, my situation is not lack of time, but poor discipline. When younger completed traditional B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in history. Maybe the awful unpleasantness of Ph.D. has left a paralyzing effect on me. I really want to get that seminary degree. Helpful suggestions would be blessing.
I am trying to decide on the final optional subject for my distance learning degree,and I cant make up my mind? I have realised, though late, that without getting a degree its very difficult to survive in any industry. Are there any distance learning colleges that offer fully accreditted degree courses with no examinations? I have been studying for a year with the OU. I achieved between 70 and 80 for each assignment but went to pieces a bit in the exam. I'm hoping I passed but ideally I'd like to continue without having to face the prospect of having worked hard only to fail the entire course because of a poor exam performance.
