I have a passion for Chiropody/Podiatry and I would like to know if there are any colleges where I can study by distance learning.I cant study fulltime because of family commitments.I know universites in UK only offer fulltime and only one or two which offer part time but they are not in London. Open university do not offer such a course. Does anyone out there know or can advice please..............thanks

Have many people had problems with distance learning colleges? A friend of mine enrolled with a distance leaning provider realised on wrong course (no guidance at start) requested to change course (2 months after enrollment course not started but agreed to) recieved in response a letter threatening to take her to a debt collecting agency..It also said she could change course but will still be liable for total £1300 regardless of the new course cost (mostly £300).she is not in default on the course fees. Is this a common problem?

Online distance learning colleges.. Need advice!!? I do not have any degree under my belt right now, but I have completed 1 year at a community college, and I want to pursue a bachelor of science degree in Health Science because that seems to be only right as far as achieving something within a broad range of jobs. Can someone pick an online school that only offers a bachelors degree and up and earn an associates there and then keep continuing their education until they have gotten their bachelors degree? OR do you have to atleast earned an associates degree before you can go to a school that only offers bachelors and up? Also, I have wrote a previous message concerning if anyone knew of accredited pure online schools that offer degrees in Health Science? I would like to find one that is affordable, accredited and can get me employment after I graduate. I don't want any scams! Any help is appreciated.

how do people afford distance learning college courses? I have gone through distance learning online university courses and everything is so expensive... how can anyone (other than the ones who can) afford it? One course at 800 USD and that doesn't include books or anything else that you have to pay for. Are there any options? (asking specifically about online degree programs - I live abroad)
Texas Colleges (DFW)? Distance Learning? I need help! I have been attending Unversity of Phoenix for little over a year now and I'm very close to getting my associates degree in IT and moving towards my BSIT. However, I'm becoming worried about my degree with UOP and if I should transfer to a state college. My only problem is I don't want to attend classes because I work full time, so distance learning is the ideal method for me. Is there any state college in Texas thas a good online program that would be better suited than UOP. My career is already launched but to move up the ladder I know I'm going to need at least a BS. What are my options and any advise? Should I just continue with UOP since my career is already started (major company)? Thanks!
a valid college for distance learning? Dear Friends; I am 36 man that I am going to study some IT ( Information Technology ) courses and I am looking for a international collage. Does anyone know of a good distance learning college/organisation?? I want to do my a-levels at last (am 28!!!) but because of work commitments cannot attend college. A-level History and/or Religious studies sound interesting. Any experience on these colleges? How long do they take and do you think it is possible to study 2 a-levels whilst working full-time or just do one??!! Thanks! x
Found accredited, practical distance learning college program fits needs, costs ok, what think of them? My problem is not that good with computer, although use a lot for internet basic learning. Found an accredited college that fits my interests and needs for teaching very well. At 50 and having Ph.D. feel a little schooled out, however. However, this distance learning program has excellent, courses, NEVER thought would find in a political science administrative program. My interests and background in political science is more of an academic nature for teaching, than administrative work. Ph.D., not worth paper printed on, is in history. With health problems (several years ago had to withdraw from history adjunct teaching) a little better thought perhaps having history and political science might make more possible another chance. In health situation would not make full-time teaching possible. Adjunct (part-time teaching at low salary still get me by).All thoughts, ideas, personal experience would relate about distance learning, online degree would be greatly appreciated.
Can I use Cal grant for distance learning program? I am a Californian resident and I would like to find out if I it is possible to use the Cal grant for a distance learning program. The college I am enrolled to is in Virginia but I am gonna study online from California.
What's the legality of accredited learning courses with designatory letters? Browsing the internet, i note loads of companies that offer accredited courses and call themselves an Institute, Faculty or Open Learning (Distance Learning) College. Such companies also state that if you complete one of their courses you are entitled to use the designatory letters after your name (usually either Dip.BA - for a Diploma in Business Administration or M.PMUI - Member of Pathetically Made Up Institute). Are such Diplomas and designatory letters legal and is is legal? or do these colleges/institutes have to be accredited by the Open Distance Learning Quality Council?
Are there any online colleges that offer associates degree as a physical therapist assistant? I was wondering if anyone out there can help me decide the best online distance learning college that is accredited who offers an associate's degree as a physical therapist assistant? I have been getting feedback that getting into that profession is a great idea as it is very rewarding with excellent benefits and pay. I love to help people and make them feel better. But I am going to pursue my career in pediatrics because I want to help children. Can anyone help me with the best school that i can do online from home? Thanks to all and god bless!

Can anyone offer advice on Distance Learning courses on Primatology or Animal Behaviour/Management? I am in seach for a reputable provider of Long Distance courses on the above subjects. I have been led to believe Warnborough College has misrepresented itself to students and to the Department of Education as a degree-granting institution. Also Oxford Distance Learning College does not seem to be recognised as an Educational body. I am interested in Compass Education, but I am having trouble trusting anyone after the above two examples! Its Primatology I am mainly interested in but anythin along this lines would be great. If anyone can offer any help I'll be much obliged. Thanks I am looking for maybe HND or HNC level or something like that. I have no previous qualifications in that field (other than Higher Biology), but I have a BSc in BioMedical Computing Science. Can't see that being of much use though. I would be interested in Zoology courses and the like... Thanks
Distance Learning, schools, tuition, etc? Was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on which accredited distance learning colleges/universities are available and which are the "best" based on these criteria: 1. Sophomore HS Dropout / GED Recipient 2. Business Major 3. Quality education while not Harvard priced. (Why not go to Harvard if I'm paying the same price? :D) I checked into Axia / University of Phoenix and with my work discount tuition would be about $20,000 for an Associate of Science in Business Management. Just exploring some more options before I commit to it. Also, if anyone knows of a community/forum where I could go to get some good information on this subject, I'd be very appreciative! I'm still looking but I've yet to find one. Thanks in advance.

Is Distance Learning really a feasible degree option? I have looked into getting my Associates via a Distance Learning course through a local community college. I have heard that taking classes through Distance learning requires even more discipline than taking regular classes, but between my job and my child I don't believe I could swing regular classes. Has anyone on here taking Distance Learning courses and is it really more difficult? Any tips?
Distance Learning?? I am 17. I am wanting to get a diploma in web design next year. I am looking for an actual college, not a diploma mill. Distance learning with Cambridge international college UK? I was wondering if anyone ever started a distance learning course with the Cambridge College in the UK ? For distance learning students...? If and when the Almighty Web is practically your only option for resources for college, specifically distance/online learning, how do you go about obtaining, organizing, weeding out, studying and even highlighting resources? I've not been in a classroom setting for over a decade, and have recently enrolled in college courses online. I was always a "highlighter" in high school--having every piece of material in front of me in order to study effectively. I don't see that being possible in this setting, unless I print EVERYTHING out, and that can get quite costly. I've just read through my syllabus just to get a heads up of what I am in for, and it involves articles and journals, and APA format and essays... le sigh. I'm really rather organized, but in a case such as this, I'll have no clue where to start... I'd like to know what you process is when it comes to, say, writing a research paper, or even studying notes. Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
How can I become qualified as a Distance Learning educator? If you are a distance educator, how did you prepare for your job? I am interested in working in the future as a distance learning educator. I currently have a master's degree in educational media, and I have been teaching school for 25 years (elementary, middle and high school.) I consider myself a K-12 "generalist." I am interested in working, teaching online courses to elementary, middle and high school students in remote locations. Is there a degree program or certification that will prepare me for this job? I really don't need another college degree.
Any distance learning programs or on-line schools that offer individual college courses? I need to take for the summer a business course, "Operations Management" and I want to find an institution that offers or supports continuing education credits where I can transfer those credits to the University that I am currently at. I am aware of the well-known schools like Devry and the University of Phoenix, but are there any others (inexpensive)?
Do you think a distance learning art & design/ illustration course is any good? Sorry i didn't quite know how to phrase the question. I want to study illustration but i don't want to go back to university again- i'm 30 now and don't fancy being a mature student...i have already been to 2 universities...drama BA hons and PGCE ( i passed but i want to do something else) I feel that by signing up to a distance learning course i'll merely be buying a very expensive book to work from and because I'd be working from home I won't get the same opportunities to use art materials that I'd use in a universtiy. I found London Art college distance course which seemed good. Does anyone have any experience with art based distance learning and any advice for me please> Thanks so much Thanks for the three answers i recieved so far. I think we are on the same wave length. I am artistic and have a BTEC foundation diploma in art and design that i did over ten years ago ( how time flies!) The purpose of doing a course is to be able to put together a good portfolio, but i already have some excellent books about illustration and i think you're right, maybe i should work through it on my own, i just thought that when approaching prospecitve employers or trying to get freelance work a certificate / degree or whatever would be useful, but i suppose if they liked my work it wouldn't matter would it?? Thanks everyone!
Which distance learning colleges offer A levels in Further Maths and Spanish? My two older children have just done GCSEs by distance learning. They now want to take A Levels but can't find all of the courses that they need. In particular, they want to find distance learning A Level courses in Spanish and in Further Maths. These are not available from the NEC, DCA, ICS, Oxford Open Learning, Oxford College, or the Distance Learning Centre. Has anybody studied either of these subjects by distance learning? Is there any other distance learning college that we could try?
Distance learning (homeschooling) or private school? Which better for college? Hi, I am a 7th grader that does a distance learning program. I complete a week's worth of work and send it in to my teacher by mail. I teach myself through textbooks. I am very worried about college. I know several students have gone to Ivy Leagues by doing the program. I am a huge tennis player, but I have a dream to go to an Ivy League. The school program that I am in now only has Honors classes, not AP courses. I do not know if I should go to a private regular school next year. I have straight A+. I do not know what to do. Please help me as soon as possible. Thanks!
Is distance learning worth it? Would any one recommend distance learning rather than actually going to a college/uni? Any thoughts appreciated. Isn't it hard to get motivated though?

It's the third year now since I left studies. I want to complete my studies. I have a job and can't attend full time college. I am looking for a good institute for Distance Learning. I want to complete my grad. and then MBA. NIM is a college which offers quick study. I can complete my graduation and MBA in less than two years(DBA+MBA). But I'm not sure how reliable is the university and what's it's worth in the market. Friends please visit the website of the college and suggest. www.nimonline.com
Hey people :) Which school I should pick for a distance-learning Travel/Hotel/Restaurant mgmt diploma course? I'm seriously considering taking up a diploma in Travel/Hotel/Restaurant management via distance-learning and I have shortlisted these three schools: Penn Foster (http://www.pennfosterglobal.com/travel/index.html), PCDI (http://www.pcdi.com/courses/ff/outline.html) and Stonebridge Associated Colleges (http://www.stonebridge.uk.com/det/348/Restaurant+Management). Now I'm stuck - I do not know which to choose! The accreditation for Stonebridge is pretty unclear, but it's cheaper than the rest and includes modules on setting up a restaurant, the equipment needed etc. Penn Foster's regionally accredited (I think), as well as nationally accredited, but it's slightly more expensive. PCDI's nationally accredited but it seems to focus more on service management. I'm so confused, can someone please help me? It would be great if ex-students of any of the three institutions above can share their experiences with these schools. Any help is appreciated. Thanks a million, and have a great day!
Questions about distance learning? Besides having Windows XP, the internet, and a valid email address what are the requirements and materials needed for successful distance learning? And how can I find an instructor that teaches elementary German online for college units? I have already did research and there are no on-site German classes in my area or local instructors that teach German online. All I could find over the internet was computer software to learn German. I am assuming it would be okay for me to lear German online from an instructor out of my area because there is an instructor at my local community college that teaches Italian over the internet to people all over the country.
Distance learning vs in-class; whats best for senior year? im a senior and am getting ready to enroll in a diffrent school to finish my classes(military). There is one college in the area that offers my program (campbell university), but i have more options if i want distance learning only.
