Are online masters degrees worth it? I am about to graduate with a BS in Engineering Management, Information Systems and a BS in Mathematics. I am really interested in entrepreneurship and want to eventually go to graduate school. However, considering this day and age, I'd really like to customize my schedule and possibly take online classes to complete an online masters degree, but I'm not sure if its worth it. I am afraid that it will be looked down upon by future employers. Is this true? Help!

I have decided to pursue a Masters degree. I haven't narrowed it down yet but it will most likely be one of these three; Special Ed, Ed leadership, or Psychology. My Bachelor's is in Psych. I have a teaching cert for both Psych and Special Ed.(ESE). I am finishing my sixth year of teaching ESE at the high school level. I am currently studying to take the middle grades integrated curriculum exa, which will earn me certifications in math, science, english and social studies. To be honest, I want this to be as quick and painless as possible. I also know there are schools out there that meet my requirements, I just haven't searched for them yet. Please help. Thanks!
Will a fully accredited online Masters degree be enough to find a community college teaching position? I'm thinking of going to Golden Gate University online program and when I'm done I will have two Masters Degrees one in finance and one in industrial psychology. The online degree is accredit by the WASC. I also have an undergraduate degree from a highly regarded institution. My work experience is relevant and somewhat impressive. I'm wondering if potential community colleges will discount my online degree? What will my prospects be like? WASC = Western Association of Schools and colleges. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is one of six official academic bodies responsible for the accreditation of public and private universities, colleges, secondary and elementary schools in the United States and foreign institutions of American origin. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges has jurisdiction over the states of California and Hawaii, territories of Guam, American Samoa, Micronesia, Palau, Northern Marianas Islands, Pacific Rim, East Asia and areas of the Pacific and East Asia where American schools or colleges may apply to it for service.
Will employers view an online masters degree the same as one taken in a classroom? I am thinking about getting my masters degree and want to make sure that I don't end up wasting my time and money. I don't live close to a college and would prefer to take classes online due to my current schedule. Does anyone know how I can make sure that the program comes from an accredited and well ranked college? (a website) I already have a BS in Criminal Justice and plan to get my masters in that field. Any advice would be appreciated.
Any Online Masters Degree Graduates Out There? If so, have you found any jobs and salaries that are compatible with your major and/or degree level? Are the results what you thought they would be, or has it been a rude awakening? I am asking because I am thinking of pursuing an online masters degree so that I can be an online adjunct professor. I'm unable to go to a brick and mortar institution due to family obligations. I've had much job and salary advancement success with my online bachelors. Thanks very much for any light you can shed.
Online Masters Degrees or Teaching Credentials? Do you know of any online universities that offer a Masters Degree in Special Education or Early Childhood Education with or without teaching credentials? I realize the student teaching component would have to be completed in a classroom. I received all 4 of my previous degrees on campus. I am still deciding if I want or need to pursue a credential at this time. I am looking for my next endeavor to be online due to my disability. It meets my needs better. I have websites for University of Phoenix, National University, Mount St. Mary's and Grand Canyon University. It is hard to find course and program descriptions. I would like specific answers from knowlege or experience. Thanks!
Is an online Masters Degree worth anything? I'm currently enrolled at Florida State University, but due to the fact that I am working full time - I am unable to continue my schooling here (most classes are scheduled when I have to be at work). I will probably have to finish my education online, and was wondering if an online Masters degree (MBA) holds any weight in the real world. Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my question.

How much credibility do employers see in online degrees? Also, do bosses see enough credibility in online master's degree to grant payraise to an employee who attains one besides working hard and doing a good job? Will employers consider someone who at least got an online degree from an accredited school if not a big name school? I'm thinking about getting an online master's since I need to keep steady with my current job. For any hiring managers or bosses who'll answer this post, what's your take?
Online Universities for a Masters Degree? Do you believe that an accredited online college/university for a Masters Degree has any credibility yet in the world today? Will it help someone in the future? Do businesses look at this on a resume and take an online degree as having no value? Any experience in the area would be of help.
Anybody know anything about online healthcare degrees to be specific-masters of occupational therapy degree?!? I wanted to know if it would be possible for me to get a master's degree in Occupational Therapy online? And if so, is it legitimate? Would the degree be widely accepted and would I be able to make what people who went to an actual school make? How long would it take and would it be hard to do while trying to work? Would I be able to get an actual job? Is there anyone who have actually did online degree programs, if so, in what and how is it working out? What schools offer online degrees in Master of Science Occupational Therapy or the MOT? Any REAL feedback would really be appreciated
Online Masters? I'm planning to do a online M.ed. I came across two online Universities, both regionally accredited so they are real degrees. One is 'Jones International U' and the other is 'U of Phoenix'. I've heard a lot of good news about U of P and its reputation in the online degree business, however after reading the course info of both courses, I think the Jones one is better for me (1. its more specialized and it whats I want to learn 2. I think it is cheaper) Has anyone any experience or comments on Jones? I not really studying the M.ed for a career path, but it may come in handy later on ... maybe go for the U of P?

I'm searching for online masters degree programs, can you recomend a good website? All I seem to find are sites that are essentially paid advertisements from the usual cheesy online colleges. I'd like to see something more objective and hopefully featuring more reputable institutions. Thanks! A few things I should have mentioned before--I live in South Korea (not military though) and am interested in the social sciences. Thanks!
Financial aid for Masters degrees through on line college/university? Where is the best place to get financial aid for a Masters degree online? I have not used any Strafford loans at all. What is the best Online University for a Masters Degree? I recently received my BS Degree in Information Technology. Online Masters Degree? Which online institution(s), universities, or online masters degree programs have you heard good references about? Please share your firsthand experiences with me, not third hand gossip. Thank you! The masters I am pursuing will be in clinical psychology.
Is an online Masters degree as well received as a standard Masters? I want to get a MS in Library Science.? I have an undergraduate degree in English, and several graduate level credits in English and Education. I am a former public school English teacher. I want to pursue a Masters in Library Science, but will be residing in an area of Pennsylvania where there will not be a graduate program within commutable distance. Unfortunately due to work and commitments within my family, I will be unable to relocate to attend a university, and obtaining a Masters degree online is my only option. I don't want to waste money on a degree that will not be marketable. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best online Masters degree programs for Library Science? There seems to be a large selection of Masters programs online.
What are the best online universities for a Masters in English? I am looking at National University and NAU? www.nu.edu and nau.edu I have looked at both and both are nationally and regionally accredited. The problem is so many schools now are accredited that it sort of make me think what is the big deal? Do employers hire you if you got on online degree? I don't want to spend thousands and have a worthless diploma. How do I know if employers don't shun an online Masters degree? I like National University's curriculum better than Northern Arizona University but I am afraid that because National University is less known it might not be taken as seriously. I am only considering English because that is what I am good at. I know University of Phoenix is not taken seriously and I don't want to be lumped with those people. Thanks, Stacy

Anyone know of any online masters (graduate) degree programs in the United States that are online in math? Anyone know of any online masters (graduate) degree programs in the United States that are online? IMPORTANT:I am only interested in programs from schools that have traditional on campus degrees as well. What I mean is not schools like University of Phoenix which mostly offer programs online. Here's an example: Texas A & M has a masters program in math online: http://distance-ed.math.tamu.edu/ Even though Texas A & M is a well-known traditional school. I don't mind if the degree has a small concentration in something else like education as long as the degree has a main focus on math. As I am not a Texas resident tuition would be about $1,000 per credit so I am looking for something cheaper.
I need a cheap masters degree. all online. No gre. Please? Online Master's of Education degrees - HELP!? Please save my bleary eyes from more research. I am a spouse of a U.S. military officer, living in Asia (not near any universities). Obviously, I cannot obtain a master's degree in the traditional sense. That leaves online. My concern is having a degree on my resume from an institution that nobody's heard of. I know that there are plenty of good quality schools out there that are not widely known. However, I feel a bit leery of the schools that are exclusively online. Even if they're properly accredited, are there any exclusively online schools that are great quality, somewhat known, and "safe?" Some of the well known schools like Drexel and Penn St. have some online master's degree programs, but their programs are not as flexible as the lesser known schools' programs. Being a military spouse who moves frequently, flexibility is critical. Quality is critical! Thoughts? Advice? Thank you for your time in reading this long post.
Online master's degrees and Ph.Ds...? Are they recognized in the world of academia/professional world now? Or, are they like those Sally Struther's "you can even get your highschool diploma"...commericals? I'd like some info from people who have experienced this...
Are online MS / MBA degrees valid for work permits? If I complete online (distance education) Master's degree from US - is it valid for the H1B's offered for US masters degree holders? What about Master's from other countries - Canada, Europian countries - UK/Germany/France/other? Do I qualify as a master's degree holder for the visa s like HSMP in UK? Please help.
Are online degrees/elearning legitimate and/or do employers consider those degrees reputable? I've been researching some of the online degree program (of course, not University of Phoenix) and am wondering if these degree programs are legitimate. I was looking at Ellis University -- but it's a considerable investment (cost and time) and am hesitant only because I don't know if an employer would skoff at that degree (Masters - Marketing). Has anyone earned an online degree and have any stories to share about how employers perceived it? Or, if you were in the position to review resumes/hire someone would you consider an online degree legitimate? PS - Yes, I know all about doing research and checking the school's accreditations. That's what I've been doing -- just want to learn any personal, "real-life" scenarios. Thanks!
Online degree - Master's (public health) vs MBA? Graduate from top college vs not so good graduate school? (1) I intend to stay in the healthcare finance industry. Which graduate degree will be more beneficial for my career development (and possibly higher income) -- getting a master's (in public health) or MBA? (2) For my undergrad degree, I graduated from a top national college. There are more nationally reputable online master's programs than online MBA programs. Is it better to have the "name" than the type of graduate degree (MBA vs MPH)?
I would like to hear from people who got an online degree (preferably Masters). What was the experience like? Most importantly: What was your degree in? Do you now think you would be better off going a more traditional route? Did an employer help with the cost? Did it take you the time they said it would to get the degree? Were there any major problems? Most importantly: Which online college did you "attend"? What was your degree in? Do you now think you would be better off going a more traditional route? Did an employer help with the cost? Did it take you the time they said it would to get the degree? Were there any major problems?
